Association of Residence Halls Vice President Job Description

The Association of Residence Halls (ARH) Vice President is elected at large by the student body to assist the President with the Association of Residence Halls meetings and activities.  The Vice President also coordinates the University's annual move-In program.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Must be enrolled as a student at Illinois State University.
  • Must be in good academic (2.5 GPA) and disciplinary standing.
  • Must have served for at least one semester on an executive board of an area government, Unity or the Association of Residence Halls Executive Board.
  • Must have attended at least 6 ARH meetings during current academic year.
  • Must have attended at least 3 ARH programs during current academic year.
  • Must have actively served on at least one ARH standing committee during current academic year.
  • Must not anticipate graduation prior to May of the academic year being served.
  • Must have completed one semester of residence hall living, and currently live in a university residence hall.

Responsibilities

  • Must complete a minimum of 8 office hours per week.
  • Must live on-campus for a minimum of 30 days during the summer, including Move-In Week.
  • Must serve as director of the annual Move-In Program.
  • Must reside in a university residence hall during entire term in office.

Compensation

  • The ARH Vice President receives a room and board waiver from University Housing Services for the entire academic year while in office.
