Black Student Union President Job Description
The BSU President is elected at large by the student body to lead the Black Student Union and advocate the interests of African-American students.
Eligibility Requirements
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student (minimum of 12 credit hours) at llinois State University.
- Must be in good academic (2.0/4.0 GPA) and disciplinary standing.
- Must have completed at least 30 semester hours at Illinois State.
- Must not anticipate graduation prior to the May of the academic year being served.
- Must have a letter of recommendation from the BSU President or Vice President on file with the Student Elections Committee.
- Must have served for at least one semester on the BSU Executive Board.
Responsibilities
- Must complete a minimum of 3 office hours per week.
- Must attend (or send a representative to) all Student Government Association Assembly meetings, which occur from 6:00-9:30 P.M. on alternating Wednesday evenings.
