Student Trustee Job Description

The Student Trustee is elected at large by the student body to sit as the student member of the Board of Trustees, Illinois State University's governing body.

 

Eligibility Requirements

• Must be enrolled as a student at Illinois State Unvierstiy.
• Must be in good academic (2.0/4.0 GPA) and disciplinary standing.
• Must not anticipate graduation prior to May of the academic year being served.

Responsibilities

• Must complete a minimum of 10 office hours per week.
• Must attend all Studnet Government Assocaition Assembly and Academic Senate meetings each Wednesday evening from 6:00-9:30 P.M. during entire term in office.
• Must attend all Board of Trustees meetings (four per year) and BOT retreat (schedule to be announced).

Additional Information

• Visit the Student Trustee’s office located on the third floor of the Student Services Building.
• No stipend is provided for serving as the Student Trustee, but the Trustee's work does not preclude other on-campus employment.
• The Assistant to the President of the University serves as administrative liaison to the Student Trustee.
