Illinois State University Chapters Receive National Honors

Congratulations to the following Illinois State Greek organizations recognized for their outstanding achievements in 2008-2010 by their national organizations. Awards listed below are based upon information received in Greek Affairs and may not be inclusive of all awards/recognition earned by individual chapters.

Alpha Delta Pi Sorority

The Zeta Theta Chapter of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority received the following awards at their 158th Anniversary Convention in June 2009:

• Diamond 4 Point Award -given annually for over-all chapter performance in the past year including: between 75% and 100% on the Chapter Performance Evaluation, compliance with ADPi Statements of Policy, complete all paperwork guidelines, met quota, support Ronald McDonald House philanthropy, have chapter point average at or above Panhellenic average or 3.0 each grading period.
• Scholarship Acievement Award
• Adelphean Achievement Award
• Recruitment Excellence Award
• Total Membership Education Excellence Award
• Alpha Education Achievement Award
• The Mary Virginia Anderson Finance Achievement Award

Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity

The Beta Omicron chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity received the following award in Fall 2008:

• Five (5) Star Award-for outstanding accomplishment by a collegiate chapter each year based on reports received at International Headquarters in the areas of leadership, membership, philanthropy, scholarship and sisterhood.

Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity

The Theta Theta chapter of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity received the following awards at their annual ATO National Awards Banquet in Indianapolis August 2009:

• Honorable Mention, "True Merit" Award (given to ATO's Top chapters)
• "Chapter Excellence" Awards for Ritual, Pledge Education and Membership Recruitment
• "Upper Alpa" Award (given to ATO's top Board of Trustees). This is the eighth consecutive year to receive this award

 

Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority

The Epsilon Alpha chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority received the following awards at their National Convention in the summer of 2009:

• Chapter Anniversary Award-20 years
• Membership Recruitment Award
• Scholarship Magna Award for gpa 3.0-3.199

Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority

The Epsilon Omicron chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority received the following Chapter Awards during the 2007-2008 calendar year:

• Member Development & Educational Programming Accreditation
• Panhellenic Accreditation
• Ritual and Values Accreditation
• Scholarship Accreditation

Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity

The Eta Phi chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity received the following awards at their National Leadership Conference in July 2008:

• Zeta Day Award (5th Place)-contributing the 5th largest amount in the country to ZTA through it's state annual banquet
• Financial Excellence-maintain chapter budget, financial records and timely reporting
• Major Donor-significant support of the Zeta Tau Alpha Foundation
• Quota/Total-pledging quota during formal recruitment and maintaining maximum chapter total
• Helping Hands Award-assisting with the re-colonization of the new Zeta chapter at St. Louis University
• Crown Chapter Award-attainment of minimum standards of chapter excellence in programming, fraternity operations, membership, finances and activities
• National Council Special Recognition Silver Award-Eta Phi was given this award because of their recruitment skills at Illinois State University, their ability to translate them to other campus recruitments during colonization efforts,and overall chapter success. This prestigious award is only given to thirty chapters nationwide.
