Illinois State University Chapters Receive National Honors

Congratulations to the following Illinois State Greek organizations recognized for their outstanding achievements by their national organizations.

Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity

The Theta Theta chapter of Alpha Tau Omega received the following awards at their National Banquet in August 2007:

  • True Merit Award-Honorable Mention
  • Special Mention, The Good Samaritan Community Awareness Award for Outstanding Service to Community
  • Recruitment Advantage Honorable Mention Award
  • ATO Excellence in Communications Award, National Finalist
  • Excellence Awards in the following areas:  pledge education, ritual, financial management, campus involvement & leadership development and summer recruitment

Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity

The Kappa Alpha chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha received the following award during the 2007-2008 academic year:

  • 20/20 Recruitment Recognition-recognized for a 20% increase in initiations from the previous academic year while initiating at least 20 men

Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity

The Mu Epsilon chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon received the following awards for 2006-2007:

  • Community Service and Outreach

Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity

The Beta Omicron chapter of Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity received the following recognition by their national office for the 06-07 school year:

  • Outstanding Achievement (5 Star Certificate)- in leadership, membership, philanthropy, scholarship,and sisterhood
  • Target Achievement-accomplishments in maintaining Jewel Chapter status, attaining quota, and having good scholarship on campus

Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity

The Eta Phi chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha Fraternity received the following awards at their National Leadership Conference in July 2007:

  • Crown Chapter Award-attained minimum standards of chapter excellence in programming, fraternity operations, membership, finances, and activities
  • Financial Excellence-maintain chapter budget, financial records and timely reporting
  • Major Donor-significant support of the Zeta Tau Alpha foundation
  • Quota/Total-pledging quota during formal recruitment and maintaining maximum chapter total
  • Helping Hands Award-assisting with the re-colonization of the Alpha Phi Chapter at Northwestern University

The Epsilon Alpha chapter of Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority received the following awards at their National Convention in the summer of 2007:
