Since 1909 the National Interfraternity Conference (NIC) has been serving the men's college fraternity community in Canada and the United States. Through sixty-six member fraternities the NIC represents almost 4.5 million alumni and 400,000 college students in more than 5,500 chapters on more than 800 campuses. The NIC advocates the needs of fraternities through enrichment of the Greek experience, advancement and growth of the fraternities and enhancement of the Greek experience, advancement and growth of the fraternities, and enhancement of the educational mission of the host institutions.
The Interfraternity Council (IFC) at Illinois State is the local organization charged with fulfilling many of the objectives of the National Interfraternity Conference. The Interfraternity Council serves as the representative body that guides, supports, and develops the entire fraternity system. The IFC is proud to be one of the driving forces behind the strong tradition of Greek excellence at Illinois State by providing leadership opportunities within the Greek community and the University as a whole.
Perhaps the most important aspect of fraternity life is that it serves as a home away from home, which makes the initial adjustments to college life easier. Your new brothers share your successes and failures as well as your joys and frustrations. The friendships you make in your fraternity last forever.
