Student Support & Advocacy

Diversity Advocacy, a unit of the Dean of Students Office, works to facilitate a supportive campus environment in which underrepresented students can flourish academically and socially by participating in programs and taking advantage of services designed to help them succeed at Illinois State.

Through Diversity Advocacy, underrepresented students will find:

  • A mentoring program specifically created to help first-year students transition to Illinois State.
  • Programs, activities, and services to address and assist with their needs and concerns.
  • An advocate for the concerns that affect their quality of campus life.
  • Scholarships to help fund education.
  • A " home away from home," located at 305 N. School St., available for study groups, meetings, or as a retreat from the busy campus life.
