At Illinois State University, we strive to create a small school environment where all of our students receive the support and assistance they need. Diversity Advocacy, a unit of the Dean of Students Office, assists incoming first-year students to successfully transition into the University culture by helping them learn to manage the rigorous academic and social demands of the institution.
Through the Mentoring, Academics, Scholarships & Achievement Initiative (MASAI), first-year students are paired with upperclassmen who serve as mentors and role models. Mentors assist first-year students with academic work, helping them get involved in the campus community and organizations, and providing information on campus resources.
If you're a current Illinois State student and interested in becoming a mentor as a part of the MASAI Program, contact Diversity Advocacy.
