Workshop Content Areas

Leadership Revolution offers many opportunities for participants to develop their leadership skills, both on and off campus. The organizational focus of the conference helps participants to understand the ways in which leadership skills learned in college have life-long benefits on future workplaces and community involvements. Over ten workshop session choices are offered in the following content areas.

Professionalism

The goals of professionalism workshops are to develop proper etiquette in professional settings with current or prospective colleagues and employers and to recognize the importance of marketability through involvement opportunities, well-rounded resumes, and strong interview skills.

Diversity

The goals of diversity workshops are to enhance participants' abilities to establish relationships with leaders from diverse backgrounds and to create and support an inclusive environment.

Group Dynamics

The goals of group dynamics workshops are to help participants understand important group concepts (such as trust, conflict, collaboration, decision-making, etc.), recognize how these concepts can positively or negatively affect the success of an organization, and learn strategies for strengthening group relationships.

Communication

The goals of communication workshops are to help participants understand how communication is affected by context and perspective and to employ necessary skills to communicate effectively, listen actively, and resolve conflicts peacefully.

Organizational Culture

The goals of organizational culture workshops are to emphasize the importance of fully understanding an organization's structure, purpose, and culture, and to develop tactics to evaluate and address the strengths and weaknesses of an organization.
